CFTC Scraps ‘No-Deny’ Rule in Legal Settlements

The US Commodity Futures Buying and selling Fee has rescinded a long-standing coverage that prevented it from accepting a lawsuit settlement if the defendant denied the company’s allegations.

The CFTC mentioned on Wednesday that it scrapped the coverage, first adopted in 1998, as a result of it “could have created an incorrect impression that the Fee is attempting to protect itself from criticism.”
