Russia Expands Crypto Mining Ban to Moscow

Russia has expanded its cryptocurrency mining restrictions to Moscow, with the ban set to take impact on Aug. 15, 2026, and stay in place by means of Dec. 31, 2032.

Russia’s Decision No. 936, signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on July 25, 2026, amends an earlier mining restriction order issued in December 2024, in accordance with data revealed on Pravo.ru.
