Nigeria’s Securities and Alternate Fee (SEC) has issued a 30-day ultimatum for crypto exchanges and digital asset merchants to re-register their companies, warning of enforcement actions towards non-compliance.

In a press release launched on June 21, the SEC introduced the initiation of the Accelerated Regulatory Incubation Program (ARIP) for Digital Belongings Service Suppliers (VASPs). This system is a part of the Fee’s efforts to amend present guidelines on digital property issuance, providing platforms, exchanges, and custody to raised align with present trade traits.

The regulator acknowledged:

“All working and potential VASPs are hereby directed to go to the SEC ePortal to finish the appliance course of no later than 30 days from the date of this round.”
