Shanghai-based Cango has signed definitive agreements to promote its China operations for $351.94 million in money, marking a strategic shift in the direction of cryptocurrency mining.

Ursalpha Digital Restricted, a British Virgin Islands-registered entity, will purchase Cango’s PRC enterprise. The transaction consists of an preliminary $210.64 million cost upon closing, with the remaining stability contingent on tax obligations and credit score threat reductions, based on a press launch. 

The deal follows a non-binding proposal from Enduring Wealth Capital Restricted in March, which sought management of Cango whereas facilitating the PRC enterprise sale.

The sale is pending shareholder approval and an inner restructuring that separates Cango’s China operations from its offshore companies, together with Bitcoin (BTC) mining and automotive buying and selling outdoors China. 

If accomplished, Cango plans to deregister as a “China Idea Inventory” beneath Chinese language regulatory oversight. Nonetheless, the client retains the suitable to reverse the deal if China’s securities regulators reject the deregistration or if EWCL fails to finalize a separate inventory acquisition settlement with Cango’s co-founders.

Cango’s crypto pivot
