Trump Administration Eyes Blockchain for Foreign Aid in USAID Overhaul: Report

The Trump administration is making ready to restructure the U.S. Company for Worldwide Growth (USAID) and combine blockchain expertise into its procurement system, Wired reported, citing a memo circulating amongst State Division employees.

The plan proposes rebranding the company as U.S. Worldwide Humanitarian Help and transferring it immediately below the authority of the Secretary of State, Wired mentioned. It will leverage a blockchain to hint support distributions and implement fee fashions based mostly on outcomes reasonably than inputs.

USAID has been below scrutiny from the Trump administration because the institution of the Division of Authorities Effectivity (DOGE), led by Elon Musk.
