Cronos, the decentralized blockchain developed by Crypto.com, has built-in interoperability protocol LayerZero, enabling cross-chain communication with over 115 blockchain networks.
On Jan. 31, Cronos Labs introduced that LayerZero (ZRO) was now reside on the Cronos’ (CRO) EVM-compatible and zero-knowledge proofs mainnets. This integration permits builders on Cronos to construct bridges connecting to greater than 115 blockchains, together with Ethereum and Solana.
Cronos EVM customers can now switch belongings between the Cosmos SDK-powered chain and a number of EVM-compatible chains. The platform can be interoperable with the Solana ecosystem. In the meantime, Cronos zkEVM customers can leverage the native Ethereum bridge to attach with different Elastic chains.
LayerZero’s integration additional permits cross-blockchain transfers between the Cronos zkEVM and numerous layer 1 and layer 2 networks.
“Cross-chain interoperability has been a serious precedence of the Cronos venture since its inception. Given the numerous safety and liquidity challenges related to the fragmentation of the crypto business, Cronos Labs is executing on that precedence with warning and willpower,” Ken Timsit, managing director of Cronos Labs, mentioned.
Past token bridging, Cronos Labs can be exploring cross-chain prediction markets, asset tokenization, artificial asset buying and selling, and cross-chain lending. Progress plans embrace the rollout of decentralized finance functions for liquid staking and restaking.
With interoperability turning into more and more very important within the blockchain and crypto house, platforms akin to LayerZero and Wormhole have emerged as key suppliers. Ondo Finance, Defi.cash, and BitGo are among the many initiatives leveraging LayerZero’s know-how.
In July, Flare introduced it had built-in the cross-chain messaging protocol to connect with 75 blockchains.
