The Hong Kong Financial Authority (HKMA) has issued a warning to the general public relating to the circulation of faux information and fraudulent actions falsely attributed to the group. In accordance with the Hong Kong Financial Authority, there have been stories of misinformation involving a purported poverty alleviation mission.

Fraudulent Claims Uncovered

The deceptive data contains claims that a person main the mission met with HKMA’s Chief Government, Eddie Yue, to debate poverty reduction funds. The HKMA has unequivocally acknowledged that these assertions are unfounded and fully fictitious.

Fraudulent Actions Recognized

In a associated rip-off, imposters posing as HKMA staff have approached people, claiming to handle the distribution of poverty funds. These fraudsters have allegedly requested funds to “activate” accounts mandatory for receiving support. The HKMA has clarified that its personnel won’t ever interact in such actions or solicit private monetary data from the general public.

Authorized Measures and Public Advisory

In response to those fraudulent claims, the HKMA has reported the incidents to the Hong Kong Police Pressure for additional investigation.
