Chinese language authorities revealed they extradited the suspect of a “mega financial crime” with the assistance of Thai legislation enforcement. The person is alleged to be the mastermind behind a $14 billion pyramid scheme involving cryptocurrencies, which makes his extradition the primary associated to financial crimes between the 2 nations.

Crypto Scammer Extradited From Thailand

MBI clients have been requested to pay charges starting from 700 Yuan to 245,000 Yuan, round $98 and $34,300. The “charges” have been required to acquire membership to the crypto platform. Moreover, individuals have been supplied incentives for recruiting new customers, with the earnings tied to the variety of new members introduced and the quantity invested by the victims.

By this methodology, the crypto scheme managed to entrap over 10 million members from 2012 to 2019, with the full quantity concerned exceeding 100 billion Yuan, value round $14 billion.

In 2020, Chongqing Municipal Public Safety Bureau (PSB) started investigating Zhang after submitting a case towards the prison. Following the investigation, the Chinese language Nationwide Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol issued a pink discover alert for the fugitive in 2021.
